Soft Launch Alert: The Digital Guidelines are a work in progress and subject to updates. Your feedback is highly valued and will help us improve! Digital Guidelines Feedback (Google Form)
Join the Working Group
If you are interested in joining the working group for the State of Colorado Digital Guidelines project, please email dpa_accessibility@state.co.us. Please be aware that eligibility is limited to current employees of the State of Colorado and that not all requests to join are approved.
Am I Right for the Group?
Everyone is welcome to request to participate. Given the focus of the group, though, we do prefer members who have expertise in design, digital accessibility, and modern technologies.
Must Haves
Our Design Guidelines are living and driven by community needs and input. To contribute effectively to the project, you must have:
- Collaboration and Communication Skills. If you're an effective writer, dig giving and getting feedback, and like working with cross-functional teams, you'd fit in well!
- Attention to Detail. This is a complex project with a lot of intricate data. If you've got a knack for spotting inconsistencies, typos, and readability hiccups, you could help us be successful.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in Digital Design. If you're a wiz at UI/UX design or have a strong working knowledge of design principles, you'd be a great fit.
- Knowledge of Design Systems. If consistency and scalability are passions of yours and you understand system components (like color schemes, grids, and UI elements), we would love to hear from you.
- Experience with Design Tools. Do you enjoy using Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch? If so, you could help us take the Digital Guidelines to the next level.
- Accessibility Expertise. If you know common standards (like WCAG) and how to apply them to all-things-geek, your input would be invaluable.
- Font-end Know-How. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge is essential to this project. If you've got the skills, we'd love to leverage them.
- User-Centered Design Expertise. Understanding the needs of users - and plotting a course for meeting them - can be challenging. If you know how to engage in user research, create personas, and rock usability testing, you can help us serve everyone better.
